Shotgun Safety Officer Training Class

  • March 11, 2017
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • ISA Club House

The ISA Shotgun program will be conducting a training class for the new position of "Shotgun Safety Officer" (SSO).  .

The qualifications for becoming a SSO are to have a basic knowledge of shotguns and Trap Shooting, an interest in running a safe firing line, and reasonable leadership skills in working with people, and finally to have completed this SSO training class.

With Sam Tay retiring from active management of the Shotgun Trap Shooting program, we are splitting the responsibilities between administrating the program and running the firing line.

We will need volunteers to manage the firing line as SSOs.  Even if you are only able to volunteer 1 or 2 Sundays a year, your help would be greatly appreciated.  Of course more days would be nice also.

The responsibilities of the SSO include provide safety training to new shooters, managing the activities on the firing line, keeping a safe environment on both sides of the firing line, restocking the targets in the Trap Machine, and performing light duty trouble shooting of the Trap Machine.
